Dear Families
How lovely and exciting it was to welcome our students, families and staff back to school this Monday for our last school term. It is hard to believe we are almost at the end of another school year!
On Monday, we welcomed our very newest students and their families with a spirited Whakatau – we extend a BIG Holy Trinity welcome to Syche, Isha, Divine, Mercy, Avleen, Amelia, Leah and Luke and their respective families. We hope it won’t take too long before you feel a special part of our Holy Trinity School Family.
Term 4 is a busy time with many activities, especially all of the end of the year community events. Please take note of each of these special events so you are able to spend time with us celebrating as a Holy Trinity School Community, giving thanks and praise for all we have been gifted this year through our learning ka ako, loving ka aroha and serving ka manaaki, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Congratulations to our Beautifcation Trust Winners!
We are so incredibly proud of our amazing Mrs Sydney Buzmion, Lucy Buzmion and all of our Learning Community Whenua Litter Warriors Team who have won the Eye on Nature Creative Arts 2026 Competition!
Primary 1st Place
What started with the discovery of pukeko eggs became an artwork about caring for the whenua and protecting the places wildlife call home. Holy Trinity’s Year 0 and 1 Litter Warriors give up their break times to collect rubbish around their school, working together to keep their environment clean and safe for their school community and local wildlife.HTCPS 10 Year Anniversary Celebrations!

On Friday 30th October, Holy Trinity School will be celebrating 10 years of establishment! We are so very excited to be reaching this wonderful milestone. It seems like a only a short while back that we were moving into this beautiful new space, gathering as a new community, welcoming children and families and staff – all of who were new to each other and to the Takanini area. And look where we are today … a thriving faith-filled school community, endeavouring to live out our school’s Vision Statement to Learn ka ako, Love ka aroha and Learn ka manaaki in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are and have been truly blessed!
We welcome all our families to join us for a day of festivities – giving thanks and praise to God for this beautiful school community and for all those who have been and continue to be Holy Trinity people!
We commence with a Whakatau at 10am followed by Mass which will be celebrated by Monsignor Bernard Kiely and then morning tea with students cultural performances to follow. Please come along and be part of the celebrations!
DRS Report
October – Month of Mission and Rosary
October is a special month in the Catholic Church because it is known as the Month of Mission. During this month, we are reminded that we are all called to share the love of Jesus with others through our words and actions. We do not have to travel to faraway places to be missionaries. We can live out our mission every day by showing kindness, helping those in need, welcoming others, and most importantly, praying. As followers of Jesus, we are called to bring hope, tūmanako to our families, our school and our wider community.
October is also known as the Month of the Rosary. The Rosary is a special Catholic prayer that helps us reflect on important moments in the lives of Jesus and Mary. As we pray the Hail Mary and other prayers, we remember how Mary trusted God and said yes to His plan. The Rosary gives us an opportunity to slow down, spend time with God, and reflect on the life and teachings of Jesus. It can bring comfort, strengthen our faith, and help us grow closer to Jesus through Mary’s example.
The Month of Mission and the Month of the Rosary are closely connected because both encourage us to live our faith with love and purpose. Through praying the Rosary, we can ask Mary to guide us as we follow Jesus and serve others. October reminds us that prayer strengthens our faith, and our faith inspires us to take action. We are all called to Learn, Love and Serve as we continue Jesus’ mission in our world.
Morning Rosary Prayers
During the month of October, our whole school will be gathering together in Taamaua/school hall to say the rosary prayers together on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as soon as the bell rings to begin the day. We invite our school families to come in and join us for rosary before you head out to your day. It’s been wonderful to see our tamariki bringing their own rosary beads from home so they can fully participate in the rosary prayers.
Mission Market Day
As part of our call to mission, we are having a Mission Market Day on Friday 23 October during lunchtime which we are inviting everyone to come along and bring some coins to spend. Each class will be running their own stalls to sell goodies and run fun games for you to take part in. The stalls will be open from 12:30pm to 1:30pm and all proceeds collected on this day will be going to Mission NZ to support all our missionaries in Aotearoa NZ. We pray for fine weather and look forward to seeing our families come along and explore what our children have made to sell.

Learning Community News
Learning Community Newsletters with Curriculum Focus
Our individual Learning Community Term 4 newsletters will be published on HERO this week. We encourage you to take a few minutes to read them, as they provide an overview of the learning your child will be involved in throughout the term, including Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Religious Education, Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education and The Arts/Music.
The newsletters are a great way to find out what your child is learning at school and how you can support their learning at home. They also give you an opportunity to talk with your child about their learning and celebrate their progress throughout the term.
Learning Community Moana
Dear Whānau,
Welcome back! We hope you had a restful break and are looking forward to a happy and engaging final term together. Our concept for Term 4 is Tūmanako / Hope. Throughout the term, our tamariki will explore what hope means, where we find it, and how we can share it through our words and actions.
In Religious Education, we will unpack stories from the Old Testament and consider the messages they hold. Tamariki will make connections between these stories and hope, thinking about practical ways they can live out these messages in their everyday lives.
In Reading and Writing, we will explore how narratives can communicate messages of hope. Tamariki will also learn about the people who have helped shape our school’s whakapapa, making connections between their stories and the history of our kura.
In Social Sciences, we will revisit our whakapapa and taonga, and consider how we can preserve and celebrate what is important to us. Tamariki will also be encouraged to generate new ideas that express hope for our school and community.
We look forward to a meaningful term of learning, creativity, and connection. Thank you, as always, for your support and partnership.

Travelwise News
As we head towards the summer months, we encourage our HTCPS whānau to help more students walk or wheel to school. Walking, scootering and cycling are great ways for tamariki to stay active, enjoy the fresh air and build healthy habits.
Through Auckland Transport’s Travelwise School Programme, we promote safer, healthier and more active ways for students to travel to and from school. Every journey counts, whether your child walks the whole way or walks part of the journey.
Travelwise Milo Mornings are coming!
To celebrate our WOW Week prize money and encourage active travel, we are planning two Milo Mornings on Wednesday of Week 4 (Wednesday 4th Nov) and Wednesday of Week 6 (Wednesday 18th Nov). Students who walk or wheel to school can look forward to enjoying a warm Milo with us! These mornings aim to motivate more families, especially those living within approximately 1.5 km of school, to give active travel a go.
Whānau, you could start small by parking a little further from school and walking the rest of the way together. As the days get warmer, let’s make the most of the sunshine and help our tamariki develop safe, active travel habits.
Remember to use safe crossing points, wear helmets when cycling or scootering, and be sun-smart.
Let’s get moving, HTCPS whānau! Walk, Wheel, Ride – Travelwise with Pride!
From Mrs Ali and the Travelwise Student Leaders Team
Awhi Team – Peer Mediators
It’s going to be an exciting term for our Awhi Team peer mediators! To celebrate their fantastic efforts and dedication throughout the year, we’ll be enjoying a special picnic later in the term. Ms Gill will also soon be asking our current Year 4s and 5s who would like to become peer mediators next year. Our current mediators are looking forward to welcoming some potential new team members and giving them the opportunity to shadow them and find out what being a peer mediator is all about.
Our mediators have been busy earning points as they carry out their duties, and we’re looking forward to presenting more Bronze, Silver, and Gold Service Awards at our next Assembly. It’s wonderful to see them putting our school’s Gospel values into action by showing arohanui, helping others, and doing their part to make our playground a happy and safe place for everyone.
The Awhi Team are always happy to lend a hand when their schoolmates need support with minor playground issues, such as sharing equipment, feeling left out of a game, or dealing with unkind words. Please encourage your child to seek out one of our peer mediators if they need a little help. Our mediators are proud to be there for their schoolmates and help everyone enjoy a positive and peaceful playground experience.

End of Day School Parking and SPEED Limits on Airfield Road!
Thank you to all the parents who are paring correctly on Kapowai Boulevard. As advised by the Police when they were on site last Tuesday, parents are only to park on Kapowai Boulevard in the direction you are driving. It is illegal to park on the footpath side facing Kuaka Drive roundabout!
The Police were monitoring traffic speed on Airfield Road on Tuesday morning and afternoon. They were disappointed about the high speed that our school family vehicles were travelling as you were approaching the school entrance – you must travel at the speed limit for Airfield Road which is 60 kph and once the variable school zone speed sign is on with the flashing lights then you MUST travel at 30kph. The Police team has advised that they will be onsite across the term to help get the “safe speed message” across to drivers. Please keep to the speed limit to ensure the safety of all – thank you!
Please DO NOT PARK on Airfield Road at any time especially NOT at the end of the school day. The Police and Auckland Transport have advised school traffic against parking on Airfield Road due to the volume and speed of traffic on the road and the poor design of the road for entry and exit into the school grounds. It is too dangerous and very unsafe for our children or family members to be crossing this busy road at any time.
