The blessing of the Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School Site occurred at dawn on Tuesday 29 September.
It was attended by local kaumatua, representatives of the Auckland Diocese and St. Mary’s Parish, the establishment committee and Judith Collins MP, for Takanini.
The kaumatua welcomed the group onto the land, this was followed by karakia, the land was turned over by Father Peter Murphy who then led the blessing.

Peta Lindstrom, begins as Principal at Holy Trinity Catholic Primary school at the beginning of Term 2.
As many of you are aware, Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School is a new integrated primary school being built in Airfield Road, in the heart of the growing area of Takanini. Scheduled to open in February 2017, it is being established with significant care and consideration given to the educational needs of Catholic children living in the 21st century.

The Establishment Board of Trustees congratulates Miss Peta Lindstrom on her appointment as the Foundation Principal for the school. Peta, currently Associate Principal at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic School in Howick, brings with her a wealth of knowledge and skills, is totally committed to Catholic education and is very community focused. Peta will take up her position on 2 May 2016. She will be working out of some temporary accommodation for the remainder of this year, still to be confirmed. Peta looks forward to meeting and getting to know the parish community and families in the coming weeks.

At Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School, there will be a commitment to developing and celebrating an innovative and inspiring Catholic education of excellence for the children. The school’s vision of “Learn, Love, Serve” will permeate all aspects of school life as will the values of unity, integrity, respect, compassion, resilience and excellence.

Expressions of interest from families wishing their children to attend Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School will be taken from the beginning of Term 2. Enrolments will begin in Term 3.
