Dear Parents

thank youAs we draw towards the end of our first term as a school family, we give thanks for all that has been achieved as a faith community, as a learning community and as a loving, serving community.

Together we are beginning to create the first footsteps in the life of Holy Trinity School – we want our school to be a place of love, to be a happy place for all, to be a place where learning is expected and where we strive to excel, to be a place where we show compassion, respect and resilience, to be a place where integrity is valued and where we come together in unity.

Thank you to our Establishment Board of Trustees, staff, families, parish priests, parishioners and to our children who have all contributed in making Holy Trinity School this place!

images (1)Loving God, drawing all creation into your communion, hear our prayer of thanks.
We ask this in union with Jesus, light of the world, and the Spirit who connects us all.

Updates from our DRS

Dear Families and Whanau,

Time has indeed gone by so fast and our little school is slowly growing, one child, one family at a time.  We thank God for his many blessings upon us, especially the wonderful achievements and celebrations during this term.   Thank you to the parents and families who joined us on our whole school end of term Mass with Fr Peter yesterday in Learning Community Awa.  It’s always wonderful to have you with us.

Stations of the Cross

station5

Holy Week is just around the corner and as we get closer to the coming of Easter, we will be gathering together as a school faith community for Stations of the Cross Liturgy on Holy Thursday 13th April at 2:00pm in Learning Community Awa.  A time of remembrance and prayer as we walk alongside Jesus our Saviour in his last moments of his life on earth.  From his arrest, to his trial, to his crucifixion, death and burial.  We will commence our prayer at 2pm and you are invited to join us during this solemnity.

Religious Education Student Books

Your child will have been bringing their Religious Education books home this week to share their learning with you.  We ask that you take some time with your child and talk with them about what they have been learning about in RE.  This term they have been learning about prayer, the Church Strand, Caritas and Holy Week leading up to Easter.

There will be a comment space for you to write a message of positive affirmation for your child to encourage them to continue their love of learning.

Morning Karakia

prayerIt is always lovely to see parents joining in our class morning prayers in their Learning Communities. We encourage you to share your own prayers and intentions with us as it is a wonderful way of modelling your own love of prayer to our children.

As our Lenten journey comes to an end and as we look forward to the celebration of Easter, we pray that our hearts have been renewed and our faith made stronger as we embrace the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Easter symbolises the renewal of life.  I wish you and your family the renewal of life, love and happiness in this Easter time.

Blessings,
Ana Silva
Director of Religious Studies

We take this opportunity to sincerely thank Nico for his valued contribution in the establishment phase of our new school and we wish him every blessing for his future educational journey.

Mrs Ana Silva will continue as the Teacher/Kaitiaki of Learning Community Moana.

Learning Community News

Awa

AwaIn Awa, we have been learning about Unity. Each one of us was given a piece of paper to colour in. We did not know what the picture looks like. We had to play our part by doing our best when using pastels to colour in. Even Mrs Kippen and Miss Charlesworth had a piece to colour in. We then put it together to see what we had created. We are proud of our picture. We learnt that although we did the small pictures as individuals, we could create ONE big, beautiful picture, if we all work together.

Whenua

This term we have been learning about our name, Whenua. It means the land.
We explored our Whenua and collected things from our environment to create mixed media art. Our artwork is displayed on our wall, come in and check it out!
