Kia ora and Greetings to all Parents, Caregivers, Staff, Children and Friends of our School Community

On behalf of the Establishment Board of Trustees, may I extend a very warm welcome to you all, as we begin our foundation year for Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School.

The past year in particular, has been one of both excitement and anticipation as we have seen our school become a living reality. Through the wonderful work and support of many people, we have been blessed with an outstanding Catholic education facility, one of which we can all be very proud. Special thanks must go to the Auckland Catholic Diocesan Property Team, Ignite Architects and Scarbro Construction at this time, for the great effort and the many long hours that have been put in to ensure we can open on Tuesday 7 February. With a dedicated and hard working staff, the children will receive an outstanding Catholic education.

Over the past weeks there have been a number of challenges, some of which will take the next 4 to 6 weeks to resolve. We appreciate your understanding as we work through these issues.

Technology: Unfortunately, there have been delays getting the Broadband fibre connections into the school. This has resulted in the school only having temporary mobile network connection. Please continue to use the school number Ph 296 9039 and your call will be diverted to a school based mobile. This means there will be an impact on the use of technology devices for staff and children until this work is done.

Top Floor of the Learning Block: We are delighted to see the downstairs Learning Communities are fully operational. We are waiting for a Code of Compliance before we can make use of the top floor of the learning block. Therefore, in the interim, Learning Community Moana, (Years 4, 5 and 6), will be located downstairs in the library.

Parking: The completion of the school carpark area is taking longer than expected and therefore we ask parents/caregivers not to park in this area. The bus bay in the front part of the school grounds can be used for drop off and pick up only- no parking. Please use the entrance nearest Kings Plant Barn to enter this area and the exit closer to the new housing area when leaving. For safety reasons, if you are remaining at school for a length of time, please park in the neighbouring side streets and walk into the school. There is no parking on Airfield Road at this stage.

We are really looking forward to seeing all our families this coming Monday afternoon, where we will have Bishop Patrick Dunn at school to bless the buildings, our families and staff. This will be followed by a time of fellowship and getting to know one another. Please remember to bring your family picnic. The school will provide a sausage sizzle for you to enjoy.

On behalf of all the Establishment Board of Trustees members, we wish to thank all the staff for their hard work in preparing for the opening of our school. The hours you have put in to your planning and organisation and attending meetings has been greatly appreciated by the Board.

Finally, as we begin this next stage of our school’s journey, may we all be blessed by the Holy Trinity and may the love of God continue to support and guide us in all that we do.
